01 / Custom Buttons:
Hardware, Reinvented

While the rest of the industry raced to remove physical controls, we chose to elevate them. I led the design of Custom Buttons, letting drivers assign key functions to tactile buttons.


  • Effortlessness: Perform high-frequency actions without looking away from the road

  • Intentionality: Fewer mis-taps, more confidence

  • Personalization: Let users define what “essential” means to them


The flow was designed to be fast, flexible, and safe—bringing back trust in hardware, while blending it seamlessly into the digital system.

02 / Climate Control:
Comfort that Thinks Ahead

HVAC is often treated as a technical system. I approached it as a human need—prioritize empathy, clarity, and emotional comfort.


Highlights:

  • Creature Comfort Mode: protect pets when the driver is away

  • Simplified multi-zone controls

  • Prioritize frequently used actions: essential functions surfaced through clearer visual hierarchy

  • Multi-modal interaction: Climate control was fully integrated across touch, physical, and voice—allowing users to stay comfortable without distraction

03 / First Time Experience: Designed for a Memorable Start

Getting a new vehicle should feel exciting, not overwhelming. I designed the First Time Experience as a thoughtful onboarding flow.


The experience introduces key features step-by-step, guides users through personalization, and offers contextual education when they need.


This lightweight onboarding reduced support calls and increased satisfaction during the most emotionally charged part of the ownership journey.

04 / UI Toolkit: Scaling Luxury Across Platforms

To ensure design cohesion across the Lucid Air, Gravity, and future vehicles, I built the Lucid design system and UI Toolkit.
